I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book, since the starting time book is about Lucia and Soren and now it's Lucia and Soren'south brother Zun. I liked Zun from the first book, it was hot and I kind of wanted something to happen between Zun and Lucia.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book, since the start book is most Lucia and Soren and now information technology's Lucia and Soren's blood brother Zun. I liked Zun from the commencement book, it was hot and I kind of wanted something to happen between Zun and Lucia.

Overall, the volume is meaty. The beginning was the best function considering in that location was then much sexual tension between Lucia and Zun, information technology actually fabricated you glued to the volume. I read the volume in i day.

I liked the interactions between Zun and Lucia, but I wouldn't accept minded more of Soren. Yep, Soren is still in the volume considering that is her first mate, but the main focus of the volume is Lucia and Zun'southward new relationship and the person trying to impale Lucia which we don't know.

I liked how Lucia is the princess and she has the babe and everyone doesn't like her. It was interesting to read her interactions with unlike characters. I will acknowledge, towards the last 40% of the volume I kind of lost involvement considering it became more political and well I wanted more steam, but in that location is plenty of steam in the volume.

So I did a lot of skimming probably the concluding 30% of the book.

Overall, I bask these books and I will probably finish he serial, simply it's not a series I can binge read because they are mighty long.

Ok,well for me this about a good as a sequel could become I really could get enough of the stories or characters but a few things bothered me merely even soo it was one of those stories I NEVER wanted to end and I honestly hope there is more at some point.
Nosotros got to run across more than of Soren/Val'ja'south family, some expert, some Not and some grew on yous ;) Once again wonderful world building and a very enjoyable book, but a few thing got to me like I said, one was a reviewer ( before I started reading) who made it sound similar the menage that happens in this book is just thrown in willy nilly and like Lucia suddenly only jumps into bed with one Soren's brothers without his approval or not, which honestly bothered and confused earlier started reading thinking how odd that sounded for the characters I thought I knew and then REALLY TICKED ME OFF after I started to read what really was happening in the book... Ok ,if different me your NOT fan of menage, that's perfectly fine ( even though IT IS spelled out this happens in the books clarification!) but don't misrepresent its deportment or how information technology happens either, that not fair to the volume or the other readers!
Now Supposedly Val'Zun 1 of the brothers from the 1st book started to develop feelings for Lucia before they left her home planet and before they dorsum to his and Soren'southward abode earth He's asked Soren if he tin became Lucia's mate as well ( it's a tradition on their world) ,Soren is honored and thrilled to know his brother cares and if anything were to ever happen to him someone would exist their for Lucia and their child, but information technology take Lucia a proficient while to warm to the thought and even Zun has mixed feelings at times.. Their relationship moves at what feels similar a natural step though ,they both the accept issues to work through merely they practise and information technology was really sweet.... My other problems ? Ane Where was Lucia'south sense at times ? Ok, new baby and planet and ppl and new possible mate etc. I go it per say but the same time when someone tries to kill her and the others around her are soo naïve every bit to who it could be when the time comes they are nearly downward correct stupid virtually it, assassination attempts lead to their planet being invaded and after a while proof come up that shows the pool of suspects it pretty darn tiny and nonetheless!! And yet! If the person in question. ( which I figured out a quarter of the style through) hadn't gotten soo frustrated by their failed attempts to kill her and her baby they lost it and tried to kill her in forepart of anybody I don't think Whatsoever OF THEM naïve family would have gotten information technology even information technology SHOULD accept been obvious to them all :( That and and the overly large deal Lucia made out marking her mates... Ok maybe information technology's me only don't ppl still become tattoos in her time ? Or pierce their ears or annihilation ? Seriously it wasn't a big bargain, Soren's ppl didn't vesture rings or collars ( i hate that in books where males "neckband" a female person) ( BDSM or not) ( and maybe I'm used to it with PNR books where shifters or Vamp.southward are always wanting to leave some sorta mark ( usually a seize with teeth) to show the mate in question has been claimed) and in another series I've read prepare in the future ppl show claims with tattoos) but anyone who's happy to be with their mate wants "something" to testify Hey! I'm claimed!! Someone wants/loves/cares enough to want to claim me for their very ain!! Nosotros all want that even now.. And that all her males wanted and it bugged me how she just didn't always try to run into things from their pov all they while complaining they were doing the same to her... Lucia supposedly had had soo many adventures and seen soo many things only seemed to have "babe brain " something for most of the book, yes she was in a hard and over whelming identify merely information technology felt like she'd lost who she was for most of the book... But I Loved it!! Will keep information technology to read once again at some point and how read more from this author again some fourth dimension in the time to come ;)

There's only so much squealing and giggling I tin can have from the heroine of a story before I start losing all respect for her.

Also, I'chiliad not much ane for menage e trois in my romance on the all-time of days, and here... It was almost similar Soren no longer existed.

I'm a bit confused, overall. I was looking forward to this book. The showtime book in this series wasn't perfect but I did actually rather bask the originality, the characters equally well as the twists and turns of the storyline. Reading this ane, I constitute the characters all of a sudden rather unlikable, the atmosphere stale and the plotting lazy to invisible. I don't quite know what to say.

Even the style the "mystery" was solved... (view spoiler)[ The detective work (if at that place was any), to find Lucia'due south would-be-assassinator all happened unmentioned backside the scenes, and was plain completely unnecessary. In the finish, the (very obvious) guilty party simply jumped up and announced their guilt without whatever pressure of discovery. (hibernate spoiler)] No. Just no.

And at present I feel a bit mean. I desire to like these characters once again.

Eh.

I've been on a scrap of Sci Fi conflicting romance run recently, luckily I am not the only one who like their heroes which extra parts and jewel toned skin. Some of our lovely followers of the Under the Covers Facebook page dearest information technology as well, and this serial was 1 of the recommendations I received. In this review I will exist talking nearly the first two books in the series: The Melier and The Melier: Homeworld. They focus on the same characters and is basically one big ol' volume divide into two parts.

What I liked nigh this book and what grabbed my attending straight away was that the tables were turned. Normally it is a poor human being woman who is kidnapped and her sexy alien mate saves the day. However, in The Melier our heroine Lucia saves our hero from slavery and gives him a risk at a make new life. Unfortunately, Soren – as named past Lucia – has no memories of who he is or where he came from.

Soren. What an conflicting. If you lot similar your aliens weird and alien then Soren is for you. Being 7 ft tall, with 4 arms and blue skin with some unlike conflicting equipment yous won't mistake him for a earthling. However, despite his intimidating await I loved Soren; as much as a 7ft, blueish conflicting with 4 arms tin be adorable, he was adorable, I think it helped that he purred when he was happy.

This was a neat romance, however, I didn't think it was a specially sexy one. Despite loving weird alien differences unfortunately Rhys didn't quite manage to brand sexy times…sexy. Possibly because she focussed too much on how dissimilar Solen was from what you lot would usually await rather than making the scene sensual.

In the second half The Melier: Homeworld Soren has recovered his memories and we get from Lucia'southward dwelling to his. And it'due south clear that this couple are on their way to becoming a triad. I enjoyed this book just as much every bit I did the first part, we were introduced to members of Soren's family unit who I actually promise become a book of their ain.

I likewise had the same effect with the second volume that I did with the first information technology just wasn't hot. Despite the improver of another sexy Melier. All the same, as the book wasn't flooded with loads of sexual practice scenes information technology was withal a sweet alien romance/adventure and I was hooked.

If yous like sci fi romances with aliens as heroes this is for you! If you don't similar your romances a trivial 'out there' then you volition probably desire to avoid this, it's not every bodies cup of tea. For myself, I am already desperate to read the adjacent book in this series and encounter what other wonderful alien treats Poppy Rhys has in store for me.

Simply like the kickoff book, we follow Lucia over again in some other stage of her life. She'south married to an alien prince, has a affair for his brother and is totally lost in their world. Politics, racism and social confrontation.

Though the writer maintains her way, the premise of this book drags and falls into an unending routine of hysterics, which I disliked, because information technology didn't help you lot enjoy the intrigue or the plot. It all of a sudden became a teenage soap opera... The pace inverse in comparing with the first book and I found myself a little bored in the centre of it.
Poppy's universe, and characters are very rich. And each convey a different and very defined personality. Which is one of her strengths. Yet in this instalment, the main characters seemed a niggling sloppy, and I tin can't recall a memmorable scene similar in the first book. Having such an established strong character like Lucia, information technology just dissapointed me a little, because there is no real change or affect in her life. Or at least information technology didn't feel that way... Adapting to the new society was a little shady because she was in her room most of the fourth dimension. Her rivals rarely appear... She's always running and scared. Which is a contradiction to the first volume. Her baby is a pop-up, just so you remember sometimes she has a child and her uncle adores her!
description
It seems like she lost her guts dorsum home... Her essence!
I liked the second brother though and was actually entertained with his depth and background. I liked his personality and his deportment effectually our heroine. He was interesting and at the cease of the volume, certainly the all-time graphic symbol out of all the lot.
Likewise, I found myself being pushed into action scenes and a sudden explanation. Information technology was merely not enough and didn't feel enjoyable at all. It wasn't satisfying to see a primary character plow from a challenged powerful woman to a flimsy scared crazy person who can't decide what she wants and simply isn't herself anymore.
The plot twist was entertaining and it compensated for the tedious crazy parts in the middle.
And potential ingredients from her first book were left out. Well most of information technology, except the goo that is...

To conclude, previous book was a pearl from the ocean compared to this and this sample wasn't necessary at all.
So no, this did not reach my expectations and I'm hoping the third book proves to be meliorate.
I bid you farewell and hope hereafter reads are fab!

Null Like the First Book

This book read a sad continuation of the showtime book. I understand that the author is trying to build and describe the civilization, only information technology was a turnoff for Lucia to be involved in a sexual relationship and mate with ane o Soren's brother.

I would have enjoyed the book if it had been a story about ane of Soren'southward brothers finding their mate.

This review has been subconscious because it contains spoilers. To view information technology, click hither. The get-go one-half was all almost Lucia and Val'Zun. I didn't end up caring for this and missed Soren. As well, it was all pretty boring with then many dropped or useless plot points along the way.

When the assassinator was revealed I wasn't as well surprised who it was, and really appreciated how the Queen handled it with an order of execution. The traitor had allowed the Melier'south most sworn enemy onto their planet, resulting in a large number of deaths. Execution is a given. Just so Lucia opened her stupid mouth and pleaded for mercy because somehow non taking a life makes her a expert person? What a whiny, weak twit she turned into in this second volume.
Similar the execution gild should've had annihilation to do with hurting Lucia feelings? Fuck. That. An execution order is the only thing that should come up from betraying one'south planet and people, allowing innocents to be murdered, when they were supposed to be its protector.
Keeping the traitor alive would achieve nothing but abound their seeds of hatred and revenge, creating future danger and conflict. And why? Considering killing would be sad? Jeezus.
I loved book one, but this one took a nose dive into an empty pool.

Lucia arrives to the Melier dwelling planet with her daughter, mate Soren/Val'Ja and his brothers. She is not welcomed, rather the hatred towards her is palpable. She has lilliputian hope that Soren's family will accept her.

Val Zun is the surprise element here and his human relationship with Lucia takes a surprising turn. I was disappointed with Lucia as a female parent. Baby Re'Len always seems to be on the sidelines and almost never with Lucia.

Although this story builds on the outset 1, information technology is not nearly as good. The lack of trust and associated lies really detracted from this established couple. The major new chemical element here was not handled well, and there were large gaps in the development of the relationships.

I like the central characters, but they need to go away from dwelling house.

The second book "The Melier: Abode world in the "Women of Dor'Nye" serial was a ho-hum and underperforming attempt of a sequel.

The second book "The Melier: Dwelling world in the "Women of Dor'Nye" serial was a boring and underperforming endeavor of a sequel.
The writer failed to make me as a reader encompass and believe in the aspect of polygamy.

Of class, i am a reader who grew up in a generally monogamous believing civilisation, then it is non easy to brand me see any appeal in it for myself. But so are the behavior and culture of the people of Dor'Nye. And the one eighty Lucia did on that matter, was not believable, her reasoning was ridiculous.
And so, i don't mind reading and are actually open for different cultures and their beliefs, but i have to be able to comprehend them.
For Melierun's society information technology might exist part of their culture, but i every bit a reader never got to know that.
In the aspect of Val'Ja's tradition and civilisation he grew upwardly with, apparently sharing a mate is normal. But i never got to know his change ego, as a reader. I only got to know Soren. And Soren did growl and pace and not really tolerate for other males to even look at her in longing. Just equally soon equally his brother shows interest, everything flies out the window. So it made no sense at the finish of the first book, for him to tell Zun, jap sure, allow's share my mate. And then i knew it was coming in the second book, merely i thought information technology would take merit.

I kept skipping to only but read the parts of the storyline without the Zun attribute and their supposedly growing attraction.

The heroine Lucia in this book was more of a whinny, needy and pathetic immature adult female. Like she lost her spank and intelligence afterwards being mated and having a baby. She even showed rare signs of any maternal tendencies.
Contrary to the Lucia i met in the first book.

The plot was predictable and lame.

All the creativity and uniqueness of the first book, what made it a quick and fun read, were missed in this book.

All in all this book was defective big time although in the like shooting fish in a barrel entertaining section.

Lucia was just every bit funny in Home World as she was in the first; yet, she wasn't in "heat" the way she constitute herself then many times in volume one.  What she did observe herself in was a difficult situation.  She travels to a planet where humans are abhorred, and she is treated like something to exist scraped off the bottom of i's shoe.  This was really very heartbreaking to witness from Lucia's POV.  The Melier truly hated her but because of what she was, and never took the fourth dimension to get to know her.  Luc Lucia was simply as funny in Abode World as she was in the showtime; yet, she wasn't in "rut" the way she found herself then many times in book one.  What she did find herself in was a difficult situation.  She travels to a planet where humans are abhorred, and she is treated like something to be scraped off the bottom of one'south shoe.  This was really very heartbreaking to witness from Lucia'south POV.  The Melier truly hated her just because of what she was, and never took the fourth dimension to go to know her.  Lucia puts on a dauntless confront and endures, determined to brand headway in the alliance between humans and Melier.  Her courage was laudable.

Throughout her ordeal in dealing with the Melier's blinding hatred, she likewise has to bargain with the possibilities of taking on a second mate.  It is Melier tradition and custom for brothers to share a mate, and at the end of book ane, Val'Zun asked Soren if could join with Lucia.  Soren left it up to Lucia.  What to practise what to practice? One hunk or two? LOL!  Lucia is appalled by the idea of taking on a second mate, and tin can't sympathise the exercise; but slowly, and with more time spent with Val'Zun, she changes her mind.

I personally felt that there weren't as many explicit scenes in Domicile World as at that place were in volume one, and for one time I am OK with that.  I know that is a shocker.  I actually enjoyed the story.  The only matter that kept it from being 5 stars was, I guessed who the bad guy was pretty much right from the offset.  I detest that.  When it's supposed to be a mystery, I want it to be a mystery.  I don't like being able to effigy out the plot and the cease of the book from the starting time; which I did, yet at the same time, I nonetheless very much enjoyed getting from point A to B, fifty-fifty though I knew the destination in advance....Sara

This was a fun read, a lot of activeness and suspense. I liked how Lucia slowly won her new family over. Peculiarly her mother-in-law.

After a 2d read: I accept a different impression. I notwithstanding loved the book. I loved the story that was happening beyond the honey story. But I kind of want to drop a star on my rating. I won't because that rating was based on my kickoff impression of the story.

Just I merely didn't connect with the love story between Val'Zun and Lucia. Even knowing it was coming. This is the reason I have a hard time with RH. Just especially when the first book is defended to one couple and then they add together someone in the second book. There were so many scenes building the relationship between Val'Zun and Lucia that her relationship with Soren didn't feel as strong equally information technology once did. And like I said, I just didn't feel a connection between Zun and Lucia. I liked her relationship with the brothers, all of them. I wish it would have stayed that fashion, a blood brother/sister relationship. And each of the brothers could have their ain stories. Only this just felt forced.

I think I was riding the loftier of such a not bad story when I rated this the first time. Considering it is a good story. I'm just non into RH.

The ejaculation is still going strong in this volume. There is just a lot of goo squirting everywhere. There was even some bad alien goo which I really didn't savor. I wish that office had been less traumatic. At present we have a scared, damaged heroine which didn't actually add that air of self development which I find fullfilling. It was merely grim.

Having read the get-go book in this series and thouroughly enjoying information technology, I was pleased to observe the rest of Lucia, Soren and Zun'south story to be just as entertaining! It is necessarya Hae to read the first volume in gild to understand the 2nd. Great story

Having read the first book in this series and thouroughly enjoying it, I was pleased to discover the rest of Lucia, Soren and Zun'due south story to be just equally entertaining! Information technology is necessarya Hae to read the kickoff book in order to empathise the 2nd. In this continuation of the tale, Soren and his brothers return to Melierun, their home planet, along with Lucia and their newborn baby girl. They knew it would be rough since the Melierun people saw humans every bit a disgusting, animalistic species. Much emotion and mayhem ensue. The real point of this story is a good one. That prejudice is a learned behavior, handed downwards from generation to generation, and is only destructive and uncivilized. The story does have a HEA, though I do promise the author volition write stories for the other 2 Melierun brothers. I'd certainly read them!

Lucia abhorrence of violence was annoying & had me constantly rolling my optics. This volume but didn't practise anything for me. At that place was no discernible plot. The only existent conflict in the volume was underwhelming, & information technology wasn't fully explored or explained. Like what was the intergalactic agreement that was made? Why did the Trepins withdraw? You lot would think those would be big important plot points seeing every bit how that was the but existent plot betoken of the volume, but it was entirely skimmed over. This sequel loses the essence of the first book, Soren looks like passes to the second plane and the story information technology's about Zun and Lu. I was disappointed with this one

I was very excited to read the second novel in the series after completing the offset volume in record speed. The dauntless Lu in the first book turned into a whiney, clueless.... idiot in this the second volume. The mating with the brother did not seem well idea out and not naturally planned. Near the stop, I started rushing through the mess to go to the cease (I did not do this with the kickoff book). The catastrophe sucked ... What hsppened ??!!!!

I really loved these 2 Meliers books, great action, corking plot and great characters.
I actually hope that y'all will continue this book serial.
I would love to observe out what happens side by side with the Melier Royal Family with Lucia, Soren (Val'Ja), Val'Zun and Lenny. I hope that Gi'Ren and Val'Koy will also go mates.

Hmm

I really enjoyed the outset book I thought information technology was a proficient read. This book I didn't like that Lucia mated with his brother. The author should of kept Lucia character the same. Lucia character in the first volume would of never been with two lovers let solitary two brothers. I though t this book was an ok read but nothing similar the first.

Flakey

A very simple, unnuanced story that would be fine if you don't want to think likewise hard. I found the main character, Lucia, to exist annoying.

Lu, Soren/Val'ja, and his brothers caput dwelling house. Having discovered who he was, a Melier prince, he knows he has to return. His people don't similar humans- they destroyed their Globe and shouldn't have been given a new home. They won't like Lu and Lenny, their adorable hybrid infant. Only, with their mating, these worlds are going to be in contact and demand to learn to get along. Oh, and Val'zun has asked to join Soren and Lu. Melier are matriarchal, and besides polyandrous in some ways, which was an bad-mannered affair to be sprung on her during a bath. So, now, this new mom has to navigate Melier hatred- including her new in-laws, a new baby, a would-exist partner with a combative personality, and did nosotros mention the attempts on her life and war she wasn't told was nonetheless ongoing? Fun times.

Spoilers alee.
Lu is still hilarious. Her thoughts are as entertaining as the actions of her and those effectually her. She is not diplomatic at all. So, to be suddenly thrust into that function is a serial of messes waiting to happen. One brother comes off as creepy, Ren is a babe thief (every bit in he steals Lenny away to cuddle, not an bodily thief!), Zun has a sad backstory but is working to overcome it to be with Lu, Soren, now that he knows who he is, his personalities are melding. He fluctuates between sweet Soren and Val'ja, a high-handed prince. And he spends his days tracking those who threaten his family, trying to bear witness the Melier how humans aren't what they thought, and trying to finish the war before he has to explain it to Lu. I've reread this series a dozen times. The function where Zun is trying to acquire how to woo a man using an outdated text is as well funny. Lenny purrs, sort of. Lu accidentally steals her female parent-in-law's pet. In amongst the serious content in that location'southward a treasure trove of funny moments you have to laugh at.
